Assignment 5 in relation to the Assessment criteria points:

1 Demonstration of technical and visual skills – Materials, techniques, observational skills, visual awareness, design and compositional skills. (40%)

Visual skills were displayed in the preparations for and completion of a staged image.

2 Quality of outcome – Content, application of knowledge, presentation of work in a coherent manner, discernment, conceptualisation of thoughts, communication of ideas. (20%)

The outcome reflects my completion of Research Notes on the topic of staged images in general and in the application of this research to my particular chosen topic and the completion of a staged image.

3 Demonstration of creativity – Imagination, experimentation, invention. (20%)

Creativity was displayed in the choice of subject for the staged image, and the ‘trial and error’ aspect of staging the scene in order to produce the finished photograph. I engaged imaginatively with the conception and making of a staged image, and  arranged my thoughts in the form of a written Introduction (~ 300 words) and Description (~ 700 words) of the image and the method of its production..

4 Context – Reflection, research, critical thinking. (20%)

Reflection, research and critical thinking were utilised in the writing of the Research Notes, the application of the research to the task of conceiving of and then realising a staged image. Additionally these aspects were also relevant to my writing of an ‘Introduction’ to, along with a ‘Description’ of, the completed image and the manner of its production.
