Assignment four in relation to the Assessment criteria points:
1 Demonstration of technical and visual skills – Materials, techniques, observational skills, visual awareness, design and compositional skills. (40%)
Visual skills were displayed in learning the skill of reading photographs in the light of semiotic theory.
2 Quality of outcome – Content, application of knowledge, presentation of work in a coherent manner, discernment, conceptualisation of thoughts, communication of ideas. (20%)
The outcome reflects my consideration of the critical theory of photography and its application to a single image so as to produce a written essay on this single image.
3 Demonstration of creativity – Imagination, experimentation, invention. (20%)
Creativity was displayed in the choice of image as subject for the essay. Also, I engaged imaginatively with the chosen image and arranged my thoughts in the form of an academic essay.
4 Context – Reflection, research, critical thinking. (20%)
Reflection, research and critical thinking were utilised in the writing of the essay.
